Who is responsible for the credit card debt of a person who dies?

I am having doubt about the credit card debt of a person. My uncle passed away but he is having credit card debt. Who is responsible for that debt?

His estate alone is responsible for his debts.  If the estate cannot afford those debts, then creditors get everything and heirs get nothing.

No one is, unless he leaves an estate to you.  The estate will be responsible for paying of his debt, so who ever takes ownership of his estate would be responsible.  You don't have to become the owner of the estate, you can refuse. The credit card companies cannot come after you after you die.
