At what age should I get lasik eye surgery?

I'm a student, early 20s. I've heard lots of positive feedback about Lasik, even my doctor says it changed her life. But how old should I get it--they say you should be older. How much older?

20's is fine. A friend of ours had it at 22, another at 25, one at 27. My husband was told he could have it even though he decided not to at 20.
