If i get emancipated do i get my structured settlement before im 18?

I have a settlement i get when i turn 18, if i get emancipated will that mean i get the money before im legally 18 ?

Absolutely not.  The documents of the trust or settlement rule.  If it stipulates age 18, you cannot get any of it until after you turn 18.  If it says 25, then you wait until after you turn 25, etc.  The courts cannot overrule that document.  And emancipation has nothing to do with it.  Also, the settlement cannot be used to assist you in proving you earn enough to support yourself, which is necessary to become emancipated.  You cannot access that money.

In most cases no because you are not considered the age of majority. Depending upon what state you live in and your specific contract you may be able to access the money sooner if you are married.
