LASIK eye surgery is a medical procedure that can correct your vision by altering the physical properties of your eye. Unlike traditional surgical procedures that depend upon the skills and steadiness of the surgeon's hand, advanced LASIK eye surgery is computer controlled.
LASIK surgery is quick and painless, usually being performed on an out-patient basis. In most cases, you'll notice an immediate improvement in vision and the procedure is virtually painless, taking only a few minutes to complete.
Research data gathered has shown that almost all LASIK patients have experienced vision improvement immediately after treatment and at least 40% of those patients were able to avoid the use of corrective lenses for ten years following the procedure. It's normal for the eye to change shape as a normal part of the aging process, so retreatment is recommended if significant reshaping occurs after several years.
LASIK eye surgery can perform miracles - it can give you relief from wearing corrective lenses. It can cure nearsightedness, astigmatism and farsightedness. The procedure is quick and painless, offering almost immediate results. And due to advances in technology and the wide demand for this type of service, LASIK is quite economical.
LASIK eye surgery is now so common that millions of people have decided that it was time to abandon their corrective lenses, once and for all. There are so many LASIK clinics that you're likely to find one close by, no matter where you live.
Hence, it is best to opt for LASIK eye surgery to correct the vision.

You are an eligible candidate for LASIK if:
your power is constant for atleast one year.
your corneal thickness is in range which is measured.
you are not having any infectious focus in your eyes.
.....
a complete preLASIK checkup can only determine whether you are fit to undergo the surgery or not.Above mentioned things are the priority.
LASIK surgery is found to give magic results in people who have power ranging from -4 to -20D so i think you can get your pre test done and see whether you are fit.
All the best!

It all depends on your age, condition of the fundus and media, your nature of work, and the time taken for you to develop our present myopic power etc. The availability of the expert in the lisik surgery is also important. For all this you may have to consult your ophthalmologist for necessary advice and guidance.
However it appears that you may put up with planoconcave fibre lenses for your condition at present for some time.
