Lemon Law question or anything similiar to it?

0 votes
I purchased a used vehicle in Louisiana recently and I purchased it "as is". I am not finished paying on this vehicle and the motor has already went out. A rod broke on the motor so I am going to have to have the entire thing replaced. Does the lemon law apply to my situation? I contacted the car lot and was told that he could get his mechanic to look at it at my expense. Any advice or suggestions?

It isn't a lemon. It is a "used car". Your options are to have it repaired or sell it. Any repairs would be at your expense unless a warranty was provided. I see the scourge of Y/A is here. "Top Source" is absolutely WRONG, misinformed and incorrect. Please do yourself a favor and ignore them. They like to post long link filled rant as an answer in an attempt to make them seem smart. They are just a charlatan that likes to sue people for fun. There is no fact in any of their responses.

=== a good mechanic can fix your motor if it is not internally trashed ... call around and see if you can get some descent price on the work.... it is too bad that your car went out on you ... the lemon law is only for certain states and does apply to wear and tear on a normal basis ... Hey!!! is there a motor pool on your base and can you get one of those guys to help??? might be a better deal than paying that dealer that sold you a bad ride....
