Can I use gas permeable contact lenses after a LASIK surgery?

0 votes
I got LASIK surgery more than 8 years ago, but I had astigmatism but by then the surgery didn't fix it. I still need contact and my optician suggest a retouch LASIK, but I need to save money (I rather do it cash) to do it. I've tried soft contct lenses but I can't read or see well and my optician said is because the new shape of my eye after the LASIK surgery. So, I think that gas-permeable contacts might solve the problem. What do you know?

You need to talk to your opthomologist (eye MD) not optician about all of this.

Ask your doctor about AK, it is a simple procedure to correct only astigmatism. Do you wear glasses or contacts? If you are happy with them and your vision is 20/40 or better without correction, leave well enough alone and wait for better technology.
