I want to file my taxes early, does the IRS send out refunds before JAN?

I'm expecting a big refund this year and need the money now. H&R block is open online to file 2010 taxes.  Will I get my refund in 2 weeks like usual or will the IRS wait until Jan to send the refund?

No, and the IRS doesn't accept returns until mid January.  Anything sent to them before that will just sit there until mid January.

If Block lets you enter your info now, which is far from clear for 2010 taxes, it will just sit on the Block computers until January when they can send them.

You can not file 2010 now.  The IRS will not accept 2010 returns electronically until mid-January.

The Block website is allowing you to preorder the 2010 software and it has 2009 available if you still havent done them.

Tax laws still have not been completed for the 2010 tax year.

You are misunderstanding what HRB offers.  The IRS will not even accept returns before mid-January.  The forms and instructions aren't even completed yet.
