Obama to give senior citizens permanent income tax break?

0 votes
Senior citizens making less than $50,000 a year would be exempt from income tax for the rest of their lives. Fair? Not fair? Just another gimmick to buy votes?

I like the idea.  I work with the elderly and when the cost of medications and things forces them to choose between taking care of their health, and eating and heating their homes it seems to me we have failed as a society.  What ever happened to respecting and caring for our elders ?  Permanent means it will still be there for us, if we need it, when we're seniors ourselves.  How can that not be considered fair?

It would be a good thing; but, I am sure it is an Obama lie, just to get elected.  And it would be fair; they have worked and paid thousands and thousands into the government coffers; they deserve a break.

Edit:  JK; Most of the Baby Boomers are not retired, we are not old enough yet.

Gimmick, because the rich seniors who still work and pull down substantial incomes will not be a part of his "tax break" and will pay a lot more through capitol gains, and of course their heirs will pay more when the POS inheritance tax is reenacted.

It's a scam to buy votes.  The baby boomers are the biggest voting demographic in the US.  The biggest majority of them are retired
