Illinois has had 3% tax rate for at least 40 years
and is one of the lowest in the country
and its only going to 5.25%
they want to cut spending and spending which has been done for the past few years
at this time their is no more places to cut except for the state senators and represenatives which seem to up 20% -25% per year
and as a state worker we have given up half of raises for the past 6 years our raises are usually 2% per year and for a couple years we recieved NO raises but everything we pay went up insurance .. retirement and such
its either this or raise it even higher within the next 5 years if nothing else is done
