I just took a new job in Idaho but I live in Washington. Am I stuck paying Idaho state income tax now?

I've heard that Idaho state income taxes will be deducted from my pay but will I get those back during tax return time?

Yes you pay income taxes for the state you work in if you don;t have it in your home state, yes most people have so many deductions you will get some back but not all.

You pay according to your residency, not according to where you work.  Washington state has no income tax, so what you'll end up doing is having Idaho tax withheld from your income, then you'll file Idaho income tax forms claiming as a non-resident, and you'll likely get most or all of it back.  You may also be able to claim exempt.)
