As of 1-02-08 is there a law on record that states you must pay federal income tax?

As i understand it federal income tax was only a temp.tax for W.W.1 and was to stop after the war,and congress never passed a law for it to keep going on.Is there a law on the books that says I must pay fed. tax?

The Sixteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, adopted in 1913, says:

"The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration."

So the answer to your question is...yes.

You are incorrect.

The current law is "Title 26 - Internal Revenue Code"

The last major rewrite was done in 1986 (long after WWI).

Income tax preceeded the US participation in World War I by a four years. If you really believe this nonsense, you need to get your head out of where the sun don't shine.
