Son was born on June 17, 2009, will he qualified for the Child Tax Credit?

Someone told me he has to be born at least 6 month for me to get the child tax credit, is that true?

yes, there is no place the question is asked for the age of the child on the return, however when you complete the information about exemptions, his bdate is recorded there
in some states if you are filing head of household the child must have lived specific number of days(Calif. is 269) for dependency but this has nothing to do with the child credit

That "someone" is clueless.  He could be born the evening of 12/31 and you'd still get the full exemption and child tax credit for the year.

nope. as long as he/she is born by 12/31 at 11:59.59 they qualify. and even if they are born during the year, and pass away during that year (god forbid), they are considered to be alive for that entire year.
