Is the 7" android gingerbread tablet any good?

I want a tablet just to use for typing papers on the go and surfing the web.. along wit some decent apps.. is this tablet any good? Thinking of getting it on ebay..

Most likely, the answer is no.
Gingerbread is best for phones and not tablet devices. Version 3 and up, Honeycomb, is made for tablets.
Android tablets are still maturing, and there has been a slew of Chinese wholesale Gingerbread tablets flooding the online internet stores in an attempt to cash in on the tablet "fad". They look really good so far as pictures and online specs, but they are horrible pieces of junk.
You can probably find a good deal on the original Samsung Galaxy Tab.  Definitely stay with a well know brand, get Honeycomb, and read reviews from trusted sites like Engadget.
