What's considered a "low price" for new cars? Nissan Leaf?

0 votes
I'm planning on saving up for a Nissan Leaf. I have a few questions about it. When i looked it up, I see that the steering wheel is on the right side. I can't find any that are on the left side. Is that how the Nissan LEAF's are supposed to be? It's said to be $32,780. Is that considered low? I've been looking at the 2010-2011 ones. Also, what's the ball thing that looks like it's a replacement for the PRNDL? I've been looking it up, but nothing is coming up! Help please!

They're all 2011s, actually.

Leafs (Leaves?) bound for North America will have left-hand drive; eventually, Nissan plans to build them here (at their Smyrna, Tennessee plant).

The price is indeed $32,780 in SV trim, though early adopters may get to cash in on a US Federal tax credit (up to $7500).  The SL adds a few convenience features; that package runs $940.)  This is about $8000 cheaper than the Chevrolet Volt, though the Volt isn't strictly comparable to the Leaf.)

And pure electrics don't really need a shift quadrant anyway: electric motors have their torque peak at a nice low 0 rpm.  Tesla's pricey Roadster, originally designed for a two-speed transmission, shipped with a single-speed drive, which reportedly proved to be more reliable.)

you have to also price in the chargin gstation that you have to have installed at your house. also if your wiring is nt up to code for the charging station you will have to have an electricain get the wiring corrected in order to install and charge the Leaf

charging station is approx $2500 bucks and any repairs before installing are on you too.

good luck

does not seem worth it to save some gas. the range is only about 200-240 miles....between charges..so if you work close to home and never leave far from home then you will be safe...they wont have charging station across the states or country for years so you wont be able to take any trips...

buy a nissan 240sx the 91 to 93 ones. probably still last longer than all those new cars they build today. mine is 250,000km and still redlines no problems. pulls like new. lol. i say it's a very good looking car.
