Why do most people think plastic surgery is so bad?

0 votes
Personally, I think it's not such a bad thing. Most people I know think that people get plastic surgery to get boyfriends/girlfriends or try to impress the opposite sex. It's not always that same reason all the time, people do it to feel better about themselves, acquire more confidence to do the things they want to do, raise their self-esteem and it makes them happy feeling beautiful. I'm just so sick of people always treating plastic surgery as though it's a crime. It's not the looks that count, it's the personality. Does anyone else get what I mean?

If it's not the looks that count, but the personality, then why get unnecessary cosmetic surgery in the first place ?

Corrective surgery is one thing.  But 99 out of 100 times, surgery is to " enhance " one's looks. It is your constitutional right to want cosmetic surgery.  However, we have the right to call it unnecessary.  Besides, most recipients of such surgery deny that the surgery took place.

I get what you mean, I have nothing against plastic surgery, when I'm older I might get a nose job or something (I hate my nose.. urgh)... because I hate the way it looks, I feel bad and just depressed when I look in the mirror, if I had a nicer nose, then I'd feel so much better about myself! YAY
