need a good merlot sauce?

Last Christmas i made prime rib for dinner and had an awesome merlot sauce to go with it. Its being requested again this year and I can't find the recipe now. The only two ingredients i remember are merlot and scallions. Any thoughts or suggestions for a recipe are welcome!

I would saute some mushrooms in butter and then add some flour to thicken (like a roux).  Then add some au jus and some merlot, stirring constantly.  Check the seasonings for salt and pepper.  Yum. Scallions are green onions or spring onions.  I would slice them up thinly, you can either saute them with the mushrooms or just sprinkle them on top.  they will not only give you flavor that way but some pretty color as well.
