Is this cut of meat ok to use?

Ok so I am a little tight on money and wanted to do a nice dinner for my parents and husband since we cant take them out. The recipe called for a prime rib roast and I bought a top round roast will this be ok

Not the same cut and not as tender. Read your recipe well. Be careful as how you cook it. It is more healthy for you because it has less fat. If you cook it properly you should enjoy it.

Allow plenty of time and cook it slow - low oven temp or in a crock pot. It will be good; just can't do exactly the same recipe with it that you do with prime rib.
