Can I return a video game to EB Games or Toys R Us that was purchased elsewhere?

I have 2 video games that I bought last week (one from Toys R Us and one from EB Games). Yesterday I received a 2nd copy of each of these games for Xmas. Both of the new gifts are unopened and sealed and were purchased online. Can I return these new games to the stores with my original receipts from the original games?
